Terms of Use

You must be at least 13 years old to use Amend. By using the Service you represent that you are 13 or older. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's permission to use the Service.

Amend is an educational tool. It is not a substitute for a qualified teacher, tutor, or professional advisor.

You may create an account using Google, Apple, or email sign-in. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at support@getamend.com if you suspect unauthorised access.

You may delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete account. Deletion is permanent and irreversible.

Amend uses generative AI (via third-party models) to generate practice problems, grade your work, and provide tutoring feedback. AI-generated content may contain errors. You should verify important results independently and not rely solely on AI-generated grading or feedback for academic, professional, or high-stakes decisions.

Before personal data is sent to third-party AI providers, Amend asks for your explicit permission and identifies the data, providers, and purpose. AI features remain unavailable unless you choose to consent. You may withdraw permission in Settings; future AI requests will stop, although a request already in progress may finish.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service to violate any applicable law or regulation.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract AI models or API endpoints.
• Abuse rate limits or circumvent quota enforcement.
• Submit content that is illegal, harassing, hateful, or infringes third-party intellectual property.
• Use the Service if you are under 13, including with parental consent.

Amend offers optional paid subscription plans (Plus and Pro) purchased through Apple's App Store. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID settings.

Apple may offer eligible users a seven-day free introductory period for Plus Monthly. When the offer is shown, it renews at the displayed monthly price after seven days unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Apple determines eligibility; Pro does not include a free trial. Restoring or purchasing a subscription is intended for one person and does not create a family or classroom licence.

Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple in accordance with their refund policy. We do not process refunds directly for App Store purchases.

We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with reasonable notice. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance.

The Free plan may display limited banner ads on Home and Course screens. After monthly Checks are exhausted, you may optionally watch a rewarded ad to restore three Checks, up to five times per month. Closing an ad before completion grants nothing, and a grant is applied only after server verification. Amend does not use interstitial or app-open ads and does not show ads during lessons, tutoring, or grading. Paid plans and active trials are ad-free.

The Amend app, including its design, code, and AI-generated content displayed in the Service, is owned by Amend or its licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

Content you create (your whiteboard work, answers, and notes) remains yours. By submitting content to the Service you grant us a limited licence to process and store it to provide the tutoring features, as described in our Privacy Policy.

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy of AI grading or educational outcomes. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of the Service.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Amend's total liability for any claim arising from use of the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $10 USD if you have not paid us anything.

We may modify or discontinue features of the Service at any time. We may update these Terms by posting a new version at this URL and updating the effective date. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notice or email. Continued use after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in California.
